10 Rustic Houston Wedding Venues

In my venue search, I’ve thumbed through countless places online trying to find ones that are somewhat “affordable” as well as within good distance & with that o-so-popular ‘rustic charm.’ Honestly, if I knew anyone close enough with a bunch … Continue reading

DIY Save the Dates

Quick, easy, cheap, cute. These words describe Brother-Man & Erica’s Save the Dates. Since they decided to get married in 4 short months- no not the long months- these have to be sent out asap. Like tomorrow, or Saturday in reality. I thought I would share just to share. There is no real reason, except some of the pictures are adorable! Now I will show the photos, but no judging towards the photographer please. As I took the pictures but am by no means any sort of professional; nor do I know much of anything about photography. Do not worry, they are not stuck with me forever. There are real engagement photos with a ‘real’ photographer planned. These were just needed immediately & I happen to have the fanciest camera within reach.

So anyway, here are some of my faves-

     Aren’t they just so adorable?

The plan was to use balloons & write the numbers for the date on them. Which was going great, until we lost the balloons…I got a picture of their faces as they lost hold of the balloons, it was funny.

So then we moved on to an umbrella, still cute right. This one looks like the cover for a silly romance novel.

This one’s just your typical ‘couple’ picture. Whatever.

This one reveals their true identity & shows off their odd/light-hearted personalities.

So they decided to keep their save the date photos black & white, which was fine. Until I took this one-

     THE WINNER!!

It looked too darn good in color. So it’s staying that way. This photo was an accident too. Accident-photos are always the best.

I edited the photos & added the words in the free photo-editing program that Google offers, Picasa. It’s awesome & it’s free (free hooray!). I lam happy with the way this one turned out & Erica just loves it. We’re having the photos printed off at Walgreens. They usually have some sort of deal when ordering several prints at a time. Putting the actual words directly on the photo will save both time & money. They end up looking like cute little postcards & are all ready to be mailed out! This is perfect for a time-crunch since Walgreens & other photo-printing places typically have your prints ready next-day. Then all you need to do is address & mail them.

Good luck to me addressing millions of these little guys!
